Philosophy:

I like to think that I have the opportunity to give my viewer the gift of an authentic moment.
Most of what I capture is spontaneous–my photos document little moments that I had the fortune to witness–usually while walking, hiking, or skiing. Some photos originate from time pulled over on the side of the road–either a quick snap or taken after slipping under a fence.
In a world where so much is filtered–from speech to social media, from photographs to newspapers–my hope is to share something real. Simple and beautiful. Ephemeral. A view as closely as possible to what I saw. The very opposite of artificial. As such, I crop my photos as little as possible, instead getting as close I can to my subject–climbing a tree, squishing through a wet pasture, laying on a dirt road. I try to edit my photos minimally as well. When I do, the purpose is only to bring a photo more in line with what it actually looked like in the moment.

I hope you experience a similar joy to what taking these photographs brought me.
