The A Little Vermont Shop FAQ

There are variety of products and types of prints for sale—here is a quick primer on each. Please contact me should you have any questions.

  • Giclee Fine Art Prints

The “Giclée” printing process uses a wider range of ink colors than traditional fine art printing. These pigment-based inks are sprayed using an electrostatic charge on the highest-rated archival substrates (paper), thus producing smoother gradient transitions and the truest-to-life color possible.

Very simply, the giclée print sings.

  • Fine Art Prints in a Lustre Finish

    Lustre: a fine-grain, semi-matte finish

It is immediately obvious that the professional printer I use creates a print an echelon above what a traditional consumer can access.

Using state-of-the-art technology, photographs are printed on a professional paper, chosen for its large color gamut, clean whites, and rich blacks. As such, each image is truly a fine art print.

Photographs can also be printed with a glossy finish or on a metallic paper. Please ask.

  • Framed & Matted Prints

The most traditional way to display a photograph, your print will come ready to hang, professionally beautifully matted and framed in UV-filtering glass.

Your chosen photograph will have a 2” beveled archival white cotton mat around the photograph (thus add 4” to each dimension of the print, i.e. an 8x10 print is 12x16 framed).

  • Metal Print, Ready-to-Hang

▪︎ Photos Printed on Matte Metal Sheeting

A unique wall print, ready-to-hang. Particularly beautiful with black and white photographs, those that would look good with a bit of shimmer, and those with high amounts of light contrast.

Please let me advise you if you are interested.

The product is semi-matte but does have the feeling of a metal reflection to it, without being reflective.

  • Standout Prints

A photograph is printed on a ready-to-hang slab with a black 3/4” thick border, adding a modern feel to your chosen print.

The printing process involves a silver-based chemistry, where the image is infused into to the paper, resulting in a sharper image with finer details, shadows, and highlights. A standout print is a great alternative to a framed-matted print, and in a larger format, it can becomes a real statement piece.

A white border is also available. Please ask.

  • Wood Prints

Photographs are printed on 3/4” thick eco-friendly, wood certified by the Forest Stewardship Council.

The printing process reveals the wood’s natural grain, resulting in a soft matte finish with a slightly rustic feel — heirloom-quality piece with a truly special look.

Smaller sizes come with a small stand for display on a shelf.
